July 2015 - The North Down Advertiser
Hastings Hotels is set to give a culinary masterclass to prospective students at South Eastern Regional College (SERC).
Founded over 40 years ago, Hastings Hotels, which has six luxurious hotels, is Northern Ireland’s premier hotel group, and recently treated prospective hospitality and catering students by hosting a unique masterclass at SERC College’s Bangor Campus.
Adrian McNally General Manager at The Culloden Estate and Spa explains: “We are delighted to be hosting this masterclass to help inspire the next generation of chefs. The catering and hospitality industry is growing and we need to continue to attract the highest caliber of talent we need to fulfill our ambitious goals.”
Hastings Hotels has had a successful working relationship with SERC for the past few years delivering student training sessions and providing student work placements.
The event is open to the public and all 16-24 year olds interested in studying hospitality and catering courses at SERC.
Aimed at budding chefs the masterclass is designed to give visitors a ‘behind the scenes’ taste of the hospitality industry. A highlight of the event will be a cookery demonstration and taster session followed by a question and answer session where Hastings Hotels Head Chef Brian Donaldson will share his culinary expertise and pass on his expert tips.
Students will be able to find out more about SERC’s range of hospitality courses and how they can benefit from undertaking an apprenticeship with Hastings Hotels.
SERC offer a range of Hospitality and Catering programmes including Professional Cookery and Professional Food and Beverage Service.
