All Aboard for First Class Family Fun at Northern Ireland’s Largest Model Exhibition in Bangor recently!

North Down Model Railway Society’s Annual Exhibition, supported by Ards and North Down Borough Council, took place Bangor in April, delivering more family fun than ever before!

Families visiting Northern Ireland’s largest model exhibition in Bangor recently were treated to double helpings of first class fun. North Down Model Railway Society, organisers of the highly successful annual model exhibition, teamed up with one of Bangor’s top attractions, The Belfast & Co Down Miniature Railway (Drumawhey Junction), to give every child that visited the show a complimentary ticket to ride on the unique miniature railway in addition to entrance to the event.

The North Down Model Railway Society’s Annual Model Exhibition has been running annually in Bangor for over 25 years and this was the third year at the large, modern venue of Bangor Grammar School which has proved a very popular location with lots of of space for large exhibits and demos, a café, easy access and plenty of free car parking.

There was something for everyone throughout the weekend from grandparents to the youngest members of the family. For the enthusiast, the Bangor show continued to be the highlight of the modelling club calendar. Model makers spend months planning and creating picture perfect layouts, the exhibition is the ideal opportunity to share their work with like-minded modellers and the general public.

As well the new LEGO exhibit, this year’s show will include a popular YOUNG MODELERS ZONE where children aged 7 and over can have a go at creating models from Wills kits supplied by PECO and Marks Models in Dublin. For the under 7’s, there was age appropriate model making as well as the chance to have a go at driving the race cars on the Scalextrix track.
