First Minister, Arlene Foster recently visited the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum to view the Museum's Exhibition Celebrating Her Majesty The Queen's 90th Birthday.

The First Minister, Arlene Foster, was welcomed to the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum in Lisburn recently to see the Queen’s 90th Birthday exhibition.  

Accompanied by the Mayor, Councillor Thomas Beckett; Alderman Paul Porter, Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh’s Leisure and Community Development Committee, and the Chief Executive, Dr Theresa Donaldson, the First Minister toured the display. 
The exhibition is a fitting tribute to Her Majesty’s remarkable life of devoted service and features a special film ‘A Royal Occasion’ showing the Queen’s post coronation visit to Lisburn in 1953.
The Mayor, welcomed the First Minister to the Museum, and stated his appreciation of the Queen’s long life of dedicated duty.  “As the Princess Elizabeth, the Queen made her first visit to Lisburn to meet youth organisations in Wallace Park 71 years ago,” he said.
“The Council hopes local people will visit the display at the Irish Linen Centre, which is now open. The exhibition is part of the Council’s tribute to the work and steadfast service of Her Majesty,” he concluded.
Alderman Porter welcomed the First Minister to the City and praised the Queen’s long service to the nation and the specially created exhibition that illustrates her life and Lisburn’s royal associations. 
“The Council has been very honoured to have had so many special royal visits to Lisburn and it is very fitting to see these illustrated in this attractive museum display,” said Alderman Porter
