A family from Newcastle has returned from their very first holiday together with more than just a golden glow, thanks to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.

After landing at Belfast International Airport having spent a week in Mallorca, Timothy and Caroline Boyd along with their children Ayla (age 3) and Sophie (15 months) were surprised with a giant Golden Rain Cheque entitling them to a free family holiday for summer 2016.

The lucky family were picked at random for the special surprise as part of Jet2.com’s and Jet2holidays’ unique Rain Cheque initiative.

Speaking about their Golden Cheque win, Caroline said: “We couldn’t believe it, we were on the flight home from our very first family holiday when the cabin crew announced over the tannoy that we were the lucky winners of a free holiday. I couldn’t believe it, we had a fantastic time and the girls loved their first holiday so to be told we had won was just amazing and the perfect end to our holiday!
