Local Policing Plans Published
The new local policing plans for the Ards and North Down areas have been published.
Detailing the PSNI priorities for the next year, both plans have been influenced by a the views of local people through a series of consultation exercises by the Ards Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) and its North Down counterpart.
Broadly similar themes emerge in each area’s plans, with a focus on work to reduce anti-social behaviour and reduce illegal drug use and supply, as well as decreasing the number of people killed or seriously injured on roads and the number of domestic burglaries.
Speaking at the launch of the plans, Alderman Ronnie Ferguson, Chair of the Ards PCSP, said:
“One of our core functions is to help shape policing to meet the community’s needs and feeding into the local policing plan is a key method of achieving that goal. I am pleased to see that many of the issues and concerns raised via the Partnership have been reflected in the plan and I look forward to its implementation having a positive impact for local people”.
Audrey Ferguson Vice Chair of NDPCSP welcomed all of the key Policing strategic priorities across both Plans as being reflective of both local and regional community concerns and made a special mention to North Down PSNI’s current targets on reducing Domestic Violence related crime and incidents.
