May 2015 - South Side Advertiser

Inspired by Cancer Focus Northern Ireland’s Girls’ Night In campaign for local breast cancer research, Debbie Lamont and her fantastic team at Hair Ritz, Woodstock Road, organised an evening of music and entertainment raising an incredible £4,731.84.

The evening was held in memory of much loved clients who have recently passed away. Family, friends, and regular clients were invited to come together and enjoy a night of fun, celebration and memories while raising money for local cancer charity, Cancer Focus NI.

Debbie Lamont, Hair Ritz said “I held the evening because this year especially we lost quite a lot of clients to cancer. We wanted to hold a night that would pay tribute to them so decided to hold an evening to celebrate their memory for a good cause. We invited their friends and family members to come along and placed photos of their loved ones up all around the salon.

“I would especially like to thank my staff - without them this night would not of been possible - and all the local businesses on the Woodstock road who donated lots of very generous prizes, including Dominoes who supplied all the pizzas on that night. We would like to thank Bombardier for their generous donation and Ann Wilson for all her help and support. And finally, thank you to the friends and family members of our clients for supporting us.

“Cancer Focus NI is a charity that supports all aspects of cancer, from research to patient support, and we wanted to give a little something back. I’m overwhelmed by the response we had and I’m very grateful to all our clients for their generous donations. Thank you to all who helped and supported our evening at Hair Ritz Woodstock Road Belfast.”

Cancer Focus NI offers a wide range of services including counselling, support groups, a family service, bra and swimwear fitting for mastectomy patients, art therapy, Beauty for Life and stop smoking sessions. The charity also carries out cancer prevention projects in schools, sports clubs, leisure centres and other community venues to help improve the health of your community and lower your risk of cancer.
