Education Minister Michelle McIlveen and North Down MLA Stephen Dunne with 1st Bangor Scout Group including Scout leader Tim Stewart.

 North Down DUP MLA Stephen Dunne joined the Education Minister Michelle McIlveen to visit the 1st Bangor Scout Group at Crawfordsburn Scout Centre and Crawfordsburn Country Park Beach recently. The MLA added:

‘I was delighted to join the Education Minister to visit the 1st Bangor Scout Group at Crawfordsburn. It was great to see so many young people enjoying the day camps organised by the 1st Bangor Scout Group. I would like to commend the many volunteers who do such a sterling job in providing young people with such memorable life experiences within the Scouting organisation.

The Minster was also very impressed with the talent and enthusiasm of the young people who were taking part in a raft race at Crawfordsburn Country Park Beach and they also enjoyed archery, wall climbing and others activities at the Crawfordsburn Scout Centre. Experiences like these are very important for young people and they equip them with such invaluable life skills and development for the future, and it is important that our uniformed organisations get support from Central Government.’
