THE Slieve Donard Resort & Spa is celebrating after one of the UK’s largest daily newspapers, The Telegraph, placed it in the top 10 of Britain’s Best Golf Hotels, the only hotel in Northern Ireland to be included in this prestigious list.

The resort, which was the Official Host Hotel for the 2015 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open hosted by The Rory Foundation, joined renowned names throughout Britain including Gleneagles and Turnberry in Scotland and the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Mourne Mountains, the hotel welcomed world renowned golfers including Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke, Ernie Els, Rickie Fowler, Padraig Harrington and Sergio Garcia during May’s Irish Open and is located next door to Royal County Down, which is widely regarded as one of the best golf courses in the world.
