Community & Events Fundraiser with AWARE, Lesley Wright invites you to attend the splash event on Newcastle beach on Monday 1st January. Organised by Northern Ireland’s national depression charity, AWARE with support from the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa.

Splash your way into the New Year by taking part in the New Year Splash event on Newcastle beach on Monday 1 January 2018. The splash event is an annual event organised by Northern Ireland’s national depression charity, AWARE with support from the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa.

Taking place on the beach in front of the Slieve Donard Hotel during the morning (time dependent on Tide) AWARE’s New Year Splash is all your New Year Resolutions rolled into one! Once the dip is completed, participants will be welcomed into the beautiful surroundings of the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa for light refreshments.

Lesley Wright, Community and Events Fundraiser with AWARE said,

“Do something ‘wacky’ on Monday January 1st by making a brand new start - blow away the cobwebs, soak your feet in the fresh ocean and take in the stunning views of the Mourne Mountains. Come along in fancy dress (optional) and have some ‘splashy’ fun. Not only will you be participating in a very exciting event, you will also raising money for AWARE, the only charity in Northern Ireland working exclusively for those with depression and bipolar disorder.

Last year’s event was a great success and we are pleased that the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa is supporting AWARE again this year. Participants will be most welcome to come together afterwards in the warm surroundings of the hotel for complimentary hot chocolate and shortbread. Fifty random participants will receive a One Day Guess Pass for two for use at Slieve Donard Resort & Spa or Culloden Estate and Spa which are valid from January 2nd to February 28th 2018 and valued at £100”

It’s only £10 to register with a minimum sponsorship of £55 and you will receive a free AWARE t-shirt. Each £55 raised, will pay for three 14-18 year olds from Northern Ireland to receive AWARE’s Mood Matters programme providing them with skills to ensure good mental wellbeing”.
