Ards Residents Encouraged To ‘Get Appy’ With Their Bin-Formation!

July 2014 - The Ards Advertiser

Ards residents are being encouraged to ‘get appy’ by downloading Ards Borough Council’s new bin-ovation app.

The new app provides households in the Ards Borough Council area with an easily accessible A to Z list of recyclables, directions from the users current location to the nearest recycling point, and recycling hints and tips, as well as their own personal bin collection schedule, helping make recycling in the area as easy as clicking a few buttons.

The Mayor of Ards, Councillor Stephen McIlveen is excited about the new app: “The Council is delighted that the Bin-ovation app is now available to download” he said, “It has been designed to make recycling in the Borough easier by providing real-time accessible information and includes a library of over 300 household items with photographs and instructions about which bin to dispose of it in, as well as real-time updates about changes to waste collection services, making this app relevant and convenient for all users.  I am encouraging local resident’s to ‘get appy’ and start downloading!”

The Bin-ovation app is now available and is free for residents to download to their smart phones and tablet devices.
